This scarf has a slice of the Macintosh IIfx ROM knit into it, made from black and white acrylic yarn including some loading Mac icons hardcoded into the ROM, and some data tracks that look a lot like noise. This scarf was programmed, industrially machine knit, and hand finished, all in Seattle, WA. The yarn used is a 100% machine washable acrylic in black and white. Ships with source code, namely the command line one-liner that generated the image that is knit into the scarf. hex2png perl code by Trammell Hudson was used to convert the Mac ROM in hex to image format. A slice four columns wide was taken of the resulting image and knit into the scarf. The scarf wraps the columns of the ROM natively. If you hold the ends of the scarf together and offset them by one column, it wraps perfectly.
This scarf is fully reversible, with the opposite (inverted) colors on the back from the front. 10 inches wide by 90 inches long. Machine washable on warm, tumble dry warm. Please note that we can't estimate how long this item will take to get through customs for orders outside of the USA, nor can we estimate customs fees for countries outside of the USA. Get warm in this ROM scarf. Mac-tastic!
