Rule 110 Wrap #13, Elementary Cellular Automata Knit - second

Regular price $390.00

This wrap has a unique, one-off mathematically generated pattern that is knit into a wide wrap made from black and white merino. It is one possible output of Rule 110, one of the rules of the 1D CA called Elementary Cellular Automata. Rule 110 has been proven to be Turing complete. This wrap was programmed, industrially machine knit, and hand finished, all in Seattle, WA. The yarn used is a 100% merino wool, spun and dyed in the USA. Ships with source code in Processing for the exact pattern knit into the wrap. A wrap is a wide scarf, and can be worn wide or folded lengthwise and worn as a scarf. The model is wearing a different Rule 110 wrap in the same dimensions but with a different starting row. The images without models are of the exact wrap you will receive. This is a unisex item and works equally well as a wide scarf for men.

This is a seconds quality item, as it had one small flaw that was fixed by hand on the last row. The area with the repaired flaw is shown in the last two close up pictures. It is still a unique item as we never knit the same item twice, even when there are errors. This wrap is fully reversible, with the opposite colors on the back from the front. 20 inches wide by 62 inches long. Hand wash with wool wash or dry clean only. This is a finished item that is ready to ship. Wrap yourself in swaths of mathy goodness!
